Hern's Tribe 2012

Hern’s Tribe: a pagan outdoor ritual group founded in 2004. Meets for pagan festivals, special rituals at Windsor Great Park, Richmond, Sherwood Forest to work mythologically empowering ceremonies. Gatherings often combine sacred fire & cooking, tribal art/craft & tool making, totemic work with animal bones, woodland quests & more.

In HT Albion Mysteries specials, we continue to explore Mythical archetypes and tribal figures - such as such as Hern the Hunter, Robin Hood & Marion, Arthur, Merlin, Lady of the Lake, Morgana, Boudica - will all be magically explored, with a view to empowering ourselves with those energies.

We will also work psychically with the Albion-land energies, and objects/symbols we have collected from Merin's Cave, Windsor, Sherwood & Epping. These gatherings will be in a tribal outdoor setting, combining sacred fire ritual & cooking, tribal art/craft & tool making, native totemic work with animal skin/bones/skulls, woodland quests and more. Wiccans, Wizards, Druids, Tribalists, all warmly welcome. If you wish to participate in future outdoor rituals that we will be facilitating, please mail us.

Tamesa: River of Souls  (Samhain Event)

Every year, around about Samhain (Halloween.. traditional day of honoring our ancestors) we hold a small ritual/ceremony by the river Thames.

History / reason: This is because it used to be the dumping site of so many thousands of dead bodies in medieval times. In modern times, some Hindus & others have been known to scatter the ashes of their cremated loved ones (Hindu custom follows ashes being scattered in running water. In India this is done in the river Ganges). Hence it makes sense to honour all those `souls’ that ened their mortal journey in this river.

Ritual: Part of our ceremony involves creating a small altar on the sandy foreshores of Thames (at low tide!), lighting candles, placing any bones we find nearby. Some silent pagan prayers, blessing, consecrations, and a small picnic (feasting with the dead!).. and returning the bones back to the river immediately. On occassions, we throw coins in to the river, symbolic of payment to the `Ferryman’ who (Greek mythology) ferries dead souls to the underworld, and requires a small fee.

Tamesa London Circle (TLC) Tamesa-eclipse2008-2

Tamesa London Circle was formed in 2006 by Mani & April, to celebrate, honour and work magically and spiritually with the River Thames, and it’s spirit (or deity)- known as Thamesis, Tamesa or Thames Isis. This includes the woods & parks of London. River Thames has a long association with London’s history and is full of ancient mysteries- worshiped from Tribal times to Romans and modern pagans and Hindus. Ancient artefacts and bones of cattle and human are still burried in it’s depths. These often surface after a high tide, along the shores.

Tamesa Rituals. suitable for beginners and experienced magical practitioners. Regular outdoor rituals on the banks of river Thames, and in nearby parks when appropriate. These rituals are based on Lunar cycles (full moon, dark moon, eclipses and work with energies and tides of the river Thames. Hence ritual days, times and locations vary. We continue to do special rituals through out the year. Contact us to be kept updated.

We now  do Tamesa rituals on very specific occassions.

NEWS (18July2012):  We have re-launched the Tamesa London Circle website (it was amalgamated with www.Craftandmagic.org website fotr almost 2 years).
